I have had this mask in my stash for a little while now. It was one of that Amazon add on items that are really cheap if you spend over $25. I ordered it and then it kinda got buried behind all my other already open hair products.
I wish I had opened this sooner. This is a one-minute hair mask, but I tend to shampoo my hair, apply this, then do everything else before rinsing it out. I probably average about 10 minutes with this in my hair. It made my hair super shiny and quite smooth, but not greasy, and better yet the 1-minute hair mask line is vegan.
The mask comes in a tub. I do wish they had it in almost like a conditioner style bottle, but most hair masks are in jars so it really isn’t the end of the world. I prefer not to stick my hand in a tub. Since it’s vegan, it’s easier to tell if the product has gone bad in a tub instead of a bottle, so I understand why it’s packaged that way.
Now for the scent. I love it. It definitely smells like papaya and is very tropically, but it isn’t overpowering. You can really only smell it while the product is on your hair.
There are 3 ways that you can use the mask:
- As a mask: After shampoo, apply onto wet hair and leave on for 1 minute. (or longer)Rinse.
- As a conditioner: After shampoo, apply to hair from root to tip. Rinse.
- As a leave-in: Apply on damp and damaged hair for intense repair.
I only used it as a mask and conditioner because my hair isn’t damaged enough to need it as a leave-in.
As a mask, it made my hair soft and I had no tangles when combing my hair. It also looked really shiny.
As a conditioner, it made my hair soft, but it didn’t have the same feel as the mask, it uses a lot of product and seemed almost wasteful to just apply and rinse almost imiidatly.
It smells good and made my hair soft, it also had a fantastic price on Amazon for a small size ($2 Canadian) I will buy this again once I am through all of my other products.
Have you used hair masks? What are your faves?
